Dr. Ritha Menon

Community Lead Director

Dr. Ritha Menon, a dynamic individual with a rich cultural background, has left an indelible mark on various communities throughout her life's journey. Originally from India and raised in the Kingdom of Bahrain, she experienced the privilege of immersing herself in diverse cultures. Driven by her passion for the arts, she actively participated and excelled in arts and cultural associations, earning numerous accolades along the way. While pursuing her studies in Clinical Medicine in China, she assumed the responsibility of overseeing cultural affairs for Indian students.

 

Additionally, she actively engaged in diverse cultural programs, participating in French, African, and Chinese exchange initiatives, and skillfully promoted cross-cultural exchange and understanding. Subsequently, Dr. Menon joined the American Mission Hospital in Bahrain and volunteered with the Indian embassy, dedicating her time to essential medical camps. Furthering her career, she became a medical oncology resident in India, where she met her

husband. Together, they actively support the Indian community, engaging in various cultural programs such as volunteering at Hindu temple initiatives and participating in interfaith gatherings organized by the city of Montgomery.

 

During the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Menon volunteered for the vaccination drive, actively contributing to the fight against the virus. She deeply connects with the project as she has personally experienced the challenges of relocating across countries and believes in the transformative power of unity and diversity. As the

community connections liaison for the Little Amal tour, she wishes to inspire, support, and bring our communities together.
